Wales Blog Awards longlist

And I’m on it!

I can’t quite believe it but I’m very happy. Especially as I’ve been longlisted in the ‘Best Writing On A Blog’ category. Thank you so much if you nominated The Nut Press.

Equally as exciting is the fact that a lot of people I know, either through Twitter, blogging, IRL or a combination of those, are also long-listed. So, if you’re looking for some great blogs, check out these lovelies:

Cardiff Bites –  Food, News and Reviews from Cardiff and Beyond – Nicola Tudor

Catherine Hughes – What I read, what I write, what I learn along the way… – Catherine Hughes

Corpulent Capers – Talking about food, travel and anything else that takes my fancy. – Gomez Adams

In a Welsh Garden – about a garden …. and trying to live right.

Journal of Plastik – an e-magazine/journal of culture and things relating to creative culture.

Pint of 45 – A User’s Guide to Drinking in Cardiff – Phil Jones

Rachaelblogs – A little place to share… – Rachael Phillips

Save the Vulcan – A campaign to save the Vulcan Hotel, a meeting place for all sections of the community. – Rachel Thomas

Stuart’s Photography – The Diary of an Amateur Photographer – Stuart Herbert

One of the great things about the Wales Blog Awards longlist is that I’ve now got 100+ blogs to check out. I’m so looking forward to finding out who is blogging in Wales and what they’re blogging about.

Congratulations! And I didn’t know you live in Wales. I guess I assume since it was about nuts that you lived in CA, the land of fruits and nuts. Just kidding, that’s a lame joke. But do they grow a lot of nuts in Wales?

Thanks! I’m chuffed to have been included.

Maybe California is where I am meant to be! My spiritual home… I did live there for a few months so I’m not averse to moving back again. It was lovely. We’re not known for growing nuts, Karen, but there sure are a lot of them here! 😉

  2. Fabulous post,Kath , some great recommendations there : D

Agree re: longlist being a ready made list of fab. blogs to check out.

Re: Welsh nuts. There are wild hazelnuts growing around the Vale of Llangollen. *affects wide eyed innocence* That is what you mean, isn’t it ?

    1. kath says:

Of course I meant the hazlenuts… How else could anyone possibly interpret what I said about Welsh nuts? *looks around, blinks and whistles*

  3. Whoohoo! Well done and well-deserved! No nuts round here…. well, not many!

Amazing, Kath! We’ll raise some bubbly together soon. 🙂

    1. kath says:

Thanks both and I’m looking forward to that drink, Talli! x

  5. Let us know when we can start voting. I only know two welsh blogs and both are fab. 🙂

Aw, thanks. It’s lovely of you to want to vote for The Nut Press and In a Welsh Garden but I don’t think you can. The nomination round was the only one that was open to the public, I think.
